Currently, Mona’s research involves studying the effects of new media technologies on women’s social development in countries such as Iran.

But one of her constant interests is the way in which her sensibilities as a Persian woman artist sometimes dovetail with modernist thought and potentially illustrate the complexities and paradoxes that occur when cultures meet.
